The New Haven Register Story: Lanecia Peeler
According to news channel 8 the Hartford Currant WNTH and the New Haven Independent. The New Haven register is closing its Long Wharf facility and looking to relocate and restructure its news to an open office combination coffee shop. I think that this is a good idea and this can be a good thing for the people in new haven people. I think that the bad thing about this is the 100 layoffs that is happening because now theirs 100 people without a job and that’s not good because it’s adding on to the people without jobs and to the unemployment rates. I think the teens of new haven would even like this because they have allot they want to say and get off their minds. My grandmother also said when we watched it on the news(channel8) we were discussing how people depend on the news paper. My Nana said she thinks pretty soon everything is going to be on the Internet and not on paper anymore. A student at Metropolitan Mesha Bryant said she doesn’t really care about the new Haven Register or the News paper because she watches the news and goes on the Internet, but she thinks it’s a good idea their including the people of new haven in their paper now. A student at Metropolitan Jasmine Wooten said she thinks it’s a good idea that they move downtown so people can put ideas that New Haven citizens have in the paper. My teacher Mr. Monahan also thinks that it’s a good idea that the New Haven Register is moving downtown New Haven and he thinks it is good for the teens to give their opinions about the world.
